Forged AIS Valves, Fittings, and Flanges

Send all AIS valve requests to sales@smithvalves.com.

Smith Valves, Ladish Valves, Penn Machine, and Western Forge & Flange are proud to manufacture valves, fittings, and flanges that comply with the American Iron and Steel (AIS) Act.

The American Iron and Steel (AIS) provision requires Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) assistance recipients to use iron and steel products that are produced in the United States. This requirement applies to projects for the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of a public water system or treatment works.

The AIS provision is a permanent requirement for all CWSRF projects. The America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 extends the AIS provision for DWSRF projects through Fiscal Year 2023.

  • As a Houston, TX based manufacturer, Smith valves manufactured in the USA can meet AIS (American Iron & Steel Act) requirements. We maintain a network of US-based vendors that provide AIS compliant forgings & components.
  • PLEASE NOTE: To ensure AIS documentation is appropriately captured and maintained throughout the manufacturing process, AIS requirements (along with any other regulatory requirements) must be specified at the time of quotation, and when orders are placed with Smith Valves. When AIS valve products are ordered, Smith Valves will provide a certification letter that meets EPA requirements as well as certified MTRs.
